Any scratches or impacts have the potential to sow the seed for future failure by introducing a flaw you can’t see that leads to a break later. Keys in your pocket and scratches from debris or careless cleaning can also cause microscopic flaws that weaken the glass.

When there’s an impact, like a drop onto a hard surface or a stray stone, the pressure seeks out those flaws and cracks, or shatters the glass.

And the demand for invisible protection is growing as people want want to enjoy a high tech device at its sleekest and most beautiful, while drivers look for superior driving visibility.

All this while device and auto manufacturers are employing more and more glass in their latest designs. Screens are getting bigger, frames are shrinking, and customers are trying to limit the spiralling cost of repair and replacement.

What is nanotechnology?

Nano technology is the understanding and control of matter at dimensions at nanoscale (between approximately 1 and 100 nanometers), where unique phenomena enable novel applications.

To put this into perspective you can fit about 80,000 nanometers in the width of a single human hair.

The nanotechnology therefore creates completely new application opportunities, i.e. to change the characteristics of surfaces at a molecular level.

What can nanotechnology be used for?

Nano-sealing products are one of the many varied applications developed. Nano-sealings contain nano-particles with components that firmly bond with the surface, and components that repel dirt and liquids. These two components are conjoined by vitreous components that increase the hardness of the surfaces they are applied to.

A further benefit of these products is that they stay effective for significantly longer than products containing acrylic, silicone or oil, and therefore represent a huge improvement in sealing technology.

Due to the repelling effect that results from the nano-coating, detergent use, cleaning time and expense is reduced by up to 90% - dirt simply “rolls off” under running water, making them an environmentally sound alternative.

Basically, all surfaces can be treated with nano-products. Presently, nano-products are mostly known in the aviation, construction and motorcar industries. Nevertheless, more and more private households are experiencing the benefits that come along with nano-products.

what LIQUIDNANO™ does

The LIQUIDNANO™ technology enables a user to deposit a nano-scale layer of molecular, particle free glass, onto any glass surface.

  • ▪︎ molecules of glass (Silicon Dioxide/SiO²) come from pure quartz sand
  • ▪︎ Like ordinary glass the coating is chemically inert, it is completely safe to apply and Eco friendly

How it works

When viewed under a microscope, glass is not smooth. It is full of valleys and ridges which can become points of weakness when exposed to external stress through blunt impact or a drop.
Mobile device glass is also susceptible to abrasion and scratching. When LIQUIDNANO™ is applied to a device screen the glass particles in the coating bond to the glass filling in these valleys and ridges at the Nano level.
The glass particles in our smart coating are suspended in a solvent and applied by embedding the glass particles onto the glass substrate by wiping or spraying. The solvent then evaporates, and the glass particles remain.
This liquid glass layer causes a smoothing out effect on the glass which significantly reduces the points of weakness. As a result, the smoothness and hardness of the coated glass increases with a corresponding increase in durability and resistance to scratching.
The layer is flexible, breathable, highly durable, heat tolerant, anti-microbial and offers non-stick and “easy clean” characteristics. In addition, the application of LIQUIDNANO™ Liquid Glass on to any mobile glass screen is amazingly straightforward.
